How are we going to do it?
We are investing in a modern fleet of fuel efficient vehicles with low emissions
We are following a sustainable procurement process and are committed to ensuring that we only consider goods and services which can be manufactured, used and disposed of in an environmentally responsible way.
We are working with our partners to investigate the effectiveness of electric ambulances
We are minimising the use of single use plastics throughout the company and are encouraging our team to use reusable and sustainable water bottles, crockery and utensils
We are encouraging and incentivising car sharing for our staff
We are providing recycling facilities at OMS sites and are working with our waste management company to ensure 100% office waste recycling.
We are minimising the need for travel wherever possible by holding virtual meetings and consultations
We operate an ”only print if absolutely necessary” environment
We are adopting and monitoring eco driving techniques to ensure that all our staff are minimising their environmental impact while on shift
We will continue to use a reputable Waste Management Company to ensure that all of our hazardous or clinical waste is disposed of responsibly and in accordance with The Environment Act.
We are upgrading our lighting systems to ensure that we are using sensors, LED lights and energy efficient lightbulbs
We will continue to use cleaning chemicals that are environmentally responsible and continue to use refillable cleaning bottles. We will minimise the use of wipes wherever possible.
We are improving insulation
Wherever possible we will send our unused and out of date stock to humanitarian missions and charities to minimise waste and to benefit a circular economy.
Any decisions that we make regarding improvements to our estate will have environmental impact at the forefront of the decision
The only way forward, if we are going to improve the quality of the environment, is to get everybody involved. - Richard Rogers
