Lifeguard with an AED at Bathurst Pool, sponsored by OMS first aid training

Community Matters – We are proud to have sponsored Bathurst Pool by providing First Aid Training this Summer

OMS are committed to supporting our local community  and this Summer it has been our pleasure to sponsor first aid training for volunteer lifeguards at Bathurst swimming pool in Lydney.

Bathurst pool first opened in 1920 as a gift to the people of Lydney and Aylburton from the Bathurst family. In 1999 it faced closure and was taken over by a committee of volunteers who have kept the pool open each Summer and with the support of local business, tradespeople and donations have taken it from strength to strength.

It has been our pleasure this Summer to work with the pool committee and our friends at beyond limits education to sponsor first aid training for the lifeguard team. Beyond limit training  tailored the course to specifically cover the challenges that may face the lifeguards in the course of their day. We will be sad to see the pool close for the season at the end of September but will look forward to supporting them again in 2026Bathurst Pool lifeguard holding a defibrillator after OMS first aid trainingBathurst open-air swimming pool in Lydney
